Here are a few options that are becoming quite popular for baldness cure:
FUE Hair Transplant
This is a hair transplant which uses the method of follicular unit extraction which as far as hair transplant surgery is concerned, it is the most advanced technique which is currently available. This procedure requires the extraction of hair follicles which are healthy from a certain are, generally the back of the scalp. Depending on the amount of hair follicles needed, the patient’s head may have to be completely shaved or in a marine haircut.
Under local anesthesia the hair and follicles are individually extracted right from the scalp and are the transplanted following the current hair pattern, to areas where there is thinning or balding. The procedure generally last from four to eight hours, if however there are many follicles that need to be transplanted it could last two days or more.
FUT Hair Transplant
This is a follicular unit transplant procedure, also known as the strip method. In this procedure a strip of hair is carefully taken from the back of the patient’s hair. Under a microscope the strip is dissected to tiny grafts with hair which are then transplanted into the thinning or balding areas.
This method is one of the most popular ones, this is due to it being the fastest and the most cost effective way as well as to the fact that during the procedure you are not required to shave your head. If the hair loss is significant, the follicular unit transplant procedure would probably be the best choice.
Other Forms Of Treatment
There are other forms of treatment that do not require a procedure such as Minoxidil which works for both men and women and acts like a stimulant to the hair follicles and encourages growth. It is not a short term treatment, if you want to reap the benefits you must continue using it faithfully. It may take a few months of faithfully using it for the full effects to be visible so be persistent, if discontinued, newly grown hair will fall out in only a matter of months.
There is also Finasteride which is known as Propecia and is recommended by doctors to be taken for around six months before there can be any real assessment of progress. Around that time is when improvement may be seen and the condition of the hair bettered. It is also not recommended to stop Finasteride using as hair loss and baldness can return around six months to a year later.
