Why Hair Transplants Are So Popular

For quite a long time, people were too ashamed of the fact that they had undergone a hair transplant.

As a matter of fact, most people did not even dare reveal that they had done it. The remedy for rescinding hair lines and unexplained bald patches on one’s hair was to have a hair stylist give you a weird hair style. But not any longer.
Hair transplants are now no longer considered shameful and the current trend is that more and more people are undergoing the procedure.
But why? What made people change their perspective all of a sudden?
Well, besides the fact that the procedure is actually a really great solution to hair loss, there is the factor of celebrities. Celebrities are not only a huge part of our entertainment, they also knowingly or unknowingly influence our trends and behaviour. It is not about emulating what they do, but rather more about sharing in their comfort. After all, if a celebrity who is under the scrutiny of the whole world can pull off a trend, then why not you?
Over the years, a lot of celebrities have come out and stated boldly about their hair loss problem and how they took to hair transplants to solve it. This has in turn influenced and inspired more people to go for the procedure as well as to be bold enough about it. Hair loss is an embarrassing thing to a lot of people. It could be shameful and has the potential of ruining one’s esteem and potentially, his/her personality. This is what is so inspiring when a celebrity comes out and states that they too faced hair loss problem and that they fixed those problems through hair transplants.
Whether or not the trend of increasing popularity on the part of hair transplants continues as it is, the fact remains that celebrities still play a key role in influencing how people view the procedure. There are of course those who are speculated to have had the procedure but who haven’t declared it publicly themselves. Then there are those who are on the forefront, advocating for hair transplant. In the end, hair transplants are growingly popular because of the celebrity influence.
Some of the celebrities who have openly declared undergoing hair transplants include Wayne Rooney and Will Ferrel among so many others ranging from politicians and sports personalities to musicians and actors.

Of course, there is also the fact that the procedure has become a whole lot more effective over the years, seeing as we can’t tell whether a celebrity has really had a hair transplant or not.

  1. Hair transplant surgery begins, after anesthesia is applied, with removing donor tissue. Follicular units are then extracted from the tissue using a stereo microscope. This is all done by skilled nurses and technicians.
